Two layers in every lesson
Each part of a lesson is written twice. Simple says the idea in short, plain words. Deep adds the detail and the examples. A switch at the top of a lesson shows every part in Simple or in Deep, and the site keeps that choice for next time. A switch by each heading changes that part only.
Settings
The Settings button is in the same place on every page. It changes the font, the size of the text, the space between letters, words and lines, the colours, and movement. It can also show a reading ruler, hide everything around the lesson, and hide your progress. Your choices stay in this browser.
Read aloud
Each part of a lesson has a Read aloud button. It reads the layer you can see, with a voice that is on your device, so the words are not sent anywhere. You can choose the voice in Settings. If your device has no voice of its own, the button says so.
Your progress and the save code
Your progress stays in this browser, on this device. There are no accounts. To carry your progress to another device or browser, copy your save code, or scan its QR code, and open it there. The save code holds only which lessons you finished and which badges you have. You can delete your progress at any time in Settings.
What leaves your device
On a narrow screen, this table scrolls sideways.
